


Biography
Soprano Christine Reber was born in Tuebingen, Germany and studied at the University of Music in Freiburg, Germany under Prof. Dr. Bernd Goepfert. In addition to her studies in the program of Voice Teacher, she completed an artistic training for Opera Singing.
In 2000, she was accepted into the Opera department under Prof. Gerd Heinz and sang the leading roles in fully staged operas, such as the Queen in "The Princess and the Pea" by Ernst Toch, Lady Billows in "Albert Herring" by B. Britten and Carolina in "Il matrimonio segreto" by D. Cimarosa.
In the summer of 2002, she took part in a San Francisco based Opera Program called "BASOTI" (Bay Area Summer Opera Theater Institute) and appeared in performances as Romilda in Handel's "Xerxes" and the Countess in "Le nozze di Figaro."
In fall 2002, Ms. Reber began her studies as a scholarship holder from the German Forum at Mannes College with Ruth Falcon, and such highly regarded coaches as Antony Manoli, Glenn Morton and Susan Woodruff-Versage.
She was awarded a Professional Studies Diploma in May, 2005.
While at Mannes, she participated in productions of The Mannes Opera, performing such roles as Fiordiligi in "Così fan tutte," Musetta in "La Bohème," and the title role in Massenet's "Cendrillon";




all under the direction of Joseph Colaneri, Artistic Director of The Mannes Opera, as well as a highly reputed conductor at the Metropolitan Opera of New York.
After the completion of the first year at Mannes, Ms. Reber returned to Freiburg, Germany to complete a third degree. Thus, combined with her previous two degrees - Opera Singer and Voice Teacher, she graduated in July 2004, with a degree in Lied and Oratorio. In her final year at Mannes, 2004-05, she performed the roles of Gretel in "Hansel und Gretel" and Pamina in "The Magic Flute".
Ms. Reber has performed in national and international master classes presented by Regina Resnik, Gundula Janowitz, Brian Zeger, Nico Castel, Charlotte Lehmann, Sylvia Anderson, Patricia Craig, Patricia Wise and Ubaldo Fabbri.
In 2005 she received the Achievement Award for Artistic Excellence from the German Forum in New York.
In summer 2005, 2006 and 2007 she participated in an exclusive voice seminar near Venice, Italy, conducted by opera legend Regina Resnik.
She has appeared at such prestigious New York venues as the Goethe Institute, the Union Club, the Liederkranz, the Columbus Citizens House, the Actors Studio, The Kaye Playhouse, the French Consulate and the German Consulate. Furthermore she sang for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society New York, the Bach Society Houston/ TX, the Monmouth Civic Chorus at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank/ NJ as well as for the German Conuslate Miami at the Steinway Gallery in Florida.
European engagements have included Agathe in "Der Freischuetz" and Micaela in "Carmen", Fiordiligi in “Così fan tutte” and Violetta in “La Traviata” as well as performances of "Carmina Burana", Mozart's Mass in C minor, Bach's Mass in B Minor, Magnificat and the Christmas Oratorio, the Webber, Fauré, and Brahms Requiems and several times Beethoven's 9th Symphony.
In 2006 she sang the memorial service for the victims of 9/ 11 at St. Paul’s Church in New York broadcasted by the ZDF on national television in Germany and Austria. Also, Christine Reber could be seen on television of SWR (Südwestrundfunk) as well as on different radio shows
For the time to come scheduled events in 2011/ 2012 include concerst in Tuebingen, Stuttgart, at Lake Constance, in Nebel/ Amrum, New York, Delhi and Mumbai, and Hongkong.
